State Specific Information
Paid Sick Leave (PSL)/Paid Sick & Safe Time (PSST)
Paid Sick Leave (PSL) or Paid Sick & Safe Time (PSST) is time off from work that workers can use to stay home to address their health and safety needs without losing pay. Currently, there are no federal legal requirements for paid sick leave, however there are various states, cities and municipalities throughout the United States that have paid sick leave laws. To find out more information on whether or not you live in a location that offers PSL/PSST, please first look at the Employee Resource Chart: COVID-19. Refer to the Submitting Time Off Job Aid on how to enter your PSL/PSST time in Workday. Please note that if you are a Full Time employee, you may enter PTO, but need to comment the reason as a Paid Sick Leave Request.
*Please note that Indiana (IN) and Colorado (CO) do not have a Paid Sick Leave law.
I heard about the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act and want to know how to request my Emergency Paid Sick Leave (E-PSL)?
E-PSL benefits require “small” employers to provide employees with Emergency Paid Sick Leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. They define a “small” employer as one that has less than 500 employees. JD Finish Line is considered a “Large” employer so this law does not apply to us or our employees.
Paid Family Leave (PFL)
Paid Family Leave (PFL) provides benefits to individuals who need to take time off work to care for a seriously ill child, parent, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, spouse, or registered domestic partner. Benefits are also available to new parents who need time to bond with a new child entering their life either by birth, adoption, or foster care placement. Paid Family Leave is only available to employees residing in certain locations. To determine if your state or city has PFL, please see the Employee Resource Chart: COVID-19.
*Please note that Indiana (IN) is not a state that has Paid Family Leave.
I heard about the Emergency Family and Medical Leave expansion Act (E-FMLA) and want to know how to request this Leave?
E-FMLA benefits require “small” employers to provide employees with expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. They define a “small” employer as one that has less than 500 employees. JD Finish Line is considered a “Large” employer so this law does not apply to us or our employees.
State Disability Insurance (SDI)

State Disability Insurance is only available to employees residing in certain locations under specific circumstances. To determine if your state has SDI, please see the Employee Resource Chart: COVID-19.
*Please note that Indiana (IN) is not a state that has State Disability Insurance.
