App for Coronavirus Screening (Apple Store Only)

Leaders from the healthcare and technology sectors have released an app and website that offers screening questions to help members of the public decide whether they should seek care for Coronavirus symptoms.

The tool, developed by Apple, the White House Coronavirus Task Force and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, provides users with CDC recommendations on next steps. The steps include guidance on self-distancing and isolating, how to monitor symptoms and when to contact doctors.

The free app can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store or access the tool online at apple.com/covid19.

The How We Feel Project

We’re all looking for something we can do to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. Health professionals need insight into areas that aren’t yet showing significant spikes in positive Coronavirus tests, but could be on the edge of an outbreak. Sharing how you feel will help scientists and researchers find new hotspots and identify populations that could be at risk. The data can also reveal which health measures are having the fastest impact so we can apply those learnings in other areas.

    • Self-report how you feel to help stop the spread of c!

    • See how many people are reporting symptoms near you.

    • Help scientists and doctors track and fight the virus.

    • For every new signup, HWF will donate a meal to people in need.

The free app can be downloaded from Apple App store here or Google's Play store here.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

At JD Finish Line we offer an employee assistance program (EAP) to all employees who need it. Our EAP is a work-based intervention program designed to assist employees in resolving personal problems that may be adversely affecting their performance. EAPs traditionally have assisted workers with issues like alcohol or substance abuse; however, most now cover a broad range of issues such as child or elder care, relationship challenges, nurse advice lines and wellness. Programs are delivered at no cost to employees by stand-alone EAP vendors or providers who are part of comprehensive health insurance plans. Services can be delivered via phone, video-based counseling, online chatting, e-mail interactions or face-to-face.

EAP services are available to the employee and to the employee's spouse, children and non-marital partner living in the same household as the employee.

Indiana launches free online mental health resources (Indiana Residents Only)

Indiana residents can now access free mental health resources online that have been vetted by experts, Gov. Eric Holcomb announced on April 28th.

The resources will be on a new website, BeWellIndiana.org, launched by the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, and are designed to help with anxiety, depression and other mental health issues caused by the pandemic. It includes information for people experiencing first-time issues as well as existing mental health concerns.

Initially, BeWellIndiana.org will focus on the various mental health challenges due to Covid-19, but will continue to evolve as a resource beyond the current crisis.

“It is imperative that we recognize how our mental health is affected by this pandemic,” Holcomb said. “I am proud of the public/private collaboration and expertise from so many of our partners captured in this single resource."

The site will have information ranging from coping mechanisms, crisis counseling, how to self-monitor for signs of stress, domestic violence resources, substance use disorder and recovery and tips for helping children, youth and teens.

Videos featuring medical experts, people in recovery and other practicing Indiana clinicians addressing specific mental health topics are also available on the site.
